Allistair Wilson began flying sailplanes in the 1970’s. He started flying fixed wing Microlight aircraft in the 1980’s and Weight Shift aircraft in the 1990’s. Was the first pilot to fly a weight shift from the Pacific to the Atlantic in 1996 and again flew a weight shift from the Gulf of Mexico to the Arctic Ocean in 1999. Has held UK flight Instructor qualifications, and US Advanced Flight Instructor status. Has accumulated some 2500 hours in over 40 different types of fixed wing and weight shift aircraft.

Been responsible for designing, test flying and manufacturing the Astra range of weight shift aircraft, and collaborated with DAR Aeroplanes in the development of the Solo 103 fixed wing aircraft.
